TypeScriptGoSF · Mid · Seed

Continue is seeking an experienced software engineer to help us improve the foundations of our IDE extensions, the hub.continue.dev backend, and various services we’ll build on top of them (e.g. codebase sync/indexing engine, data ingestion, VMs for background agents).

About you

Please keep in mind that we are describing the background that we imagine would best fit the role. If you don’t meet all the requirements, but you are confident that you are up for the task, we absolutely want to get to know you!

  • You are highly proficient in TypeScript, Go, or any transferable language

  • You have interest in AI engineering or machine learning

  • You have experience scaling systems for stability, maintainability, and great developer experience

  • You are willing to simplify and make trade-offs in order to move quickly

What you will do

We’re a startup, so you’ll have to be ready to do whatever is required to accomplish our mission. However, you can definitely expect to:

  • Hold and enact strong opinions about architecture that let us quickly deliver both SaaS and on premise products

  • Build out large portions of our backend services

  • Define and solve fundamental problems to improve core product metrics like autocomplete acceptance rate and codebase retrieval accuracy in our open-source product

  • Design thoughtful abstractions to underpin our product and potentially serve as open-source standards
