Anti-Spam Policy

This policy applies to every message sent by roles.cc or on our behalf: transactional mail, role lists, introductions, and business development campaigns to companies. It applies to mail sent from roles.cc and from any other domain we use for outreach.

We follow the CAN-SPAM Act, and where recipients are in the EEA or UK, the GDPR and PECR. Where a rule below is stricter than the law, the rule below is what we hold ourselves to.

We do not send cold email to candidates. An engineer hears from us only after giving us their address directly, by dropping a resume, creating an account, or replying to an introduction we were asked to make.

What we then send is the thing they asked for: a short list of roles that fit, and messages about introductions they have marked interested. A resume reaches a company only when the engineer marks that specific role interested. Nothing about them is forwarded on a guess.

We do send unsolicited business email to founders, hiring managers, and recruiters at venture-backed companies, about engineers we believe we can introduce. This is business-to-business outreach to work addresses, sent because the company is hiring for a role we have candidates for.

Every such message:

• identifies roles.cc and Statlyne LLC, with a valid postal address;
• says plainly why we are writing and what we are offering;
• carries a working one-click unsubscribe that we honour immediately;
• uses a real, monitored reply-to address, never a no-reply.

We do not disguise these as personal correspondence, forged referrals, or replies to conversations that never happened.

Outreach campaigns link to a dedicated domain reserved for that purpose, separate from roles.cc.

The reason is deliberate. roles.cc is where engineers trust us with their resumes, and the reputation of that domain should depend on how we treat them, not on the volume of business mail we send to companies. Keeping campaign links on their own domain means a complaint about our outreach is attributed to our outreach, and never to the service candidates rely on.

Company contacts come from:

• public job postings on a company’s own careers page or ATS;
• public funding filings and announcements;
• people who contacted us, or asked to be contacted;
• licensed business-contact providers, used within their terms.

We do not buy consumer lists, scrape addresses indiscriminately, guess addresses by pattern, or use contacts obtained from anyone who was not entitled to share them.

• Cold-email engineers, or email anyone their resume was shared with without their instruction.
• Forge headers, sender names, or reply-to addresses.
• Use misleading subject lines, or a subject unrelated to the message.
• Mail an address that has unsubscribed, bounced hard, or complained.
• Sell, rent, or share our contact lists with anyone.
• Continue a campaign that is generating complaints, while we work out why.

Every campaign message carries a one-click unsubscribe link and the list-unsubscribe headers mail clients use for their own unsubscribe button. Removal is immediate and permanent, and needs no reply, no account, and no explanation.

You can also write to unsubscribe@roles.cc from the address you want removed, or to abuse-reports@roles.cc if a link did not work. Suppression is by address and applies across every campaign we run, not just the one you received.

Our sending domains publish SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. We monitor deliverability, bounce rates, and complaint rates, and we pause sending on any domain or campaign whose complaint rate rises rather than pushing through it.

We keep transactional mail to candidates on separate infrastructure from business campaigns, so the two can never affect each other’s deliverability.

If you received mail from us that you believe breaks this policy, write to abuse-reports@roles.cc and include the full headers if you can. A person reads that mailbox and replies.

We aim to acknowledge within one business day and to resolve within five. If the message was ours and should not have been sent, we will say so, suppress the address, and tell you what we changed.

Blocklist operators and mailbox providers are welcome to write to the same address, or to postmaster-reports@roles.cc.

This policy binds us and anyone sending on our behalf, including contractors and the platforms we send through. A campaign that breaches it is stopped, not paused pending review.
