Building Automation & Smart Systems Division
Experience Level:
Mid-Senior (5+ Years)
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Niagara Integration Engineer to join our Building Automation Systems team. In this role, you will design, deploy, and maintain Tridium Niagara-based integration solutions across complex, multi-vendor building environments. You'll work directly with customers, contractors, and internal teams to deliver seamless BAS/BMS connectivity and smart building outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement Niagara Framework (N4/AX) integration projects for HVAC, lighting, access control, and energy management systems
Configure drivers, modules, and protocols including BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, SNMP, OPC, and MQTT within the Niagara environment
Develop custom graphics, wireframes, and dashboards in Niagara Workbench to support operator visibility and control
Perform point-to-point commissioning, system testing, and fault diagnostics on integrated BAS/BMS platforms
Lead customer discovery sessions to capture integration requirements and translate them into technical specifications
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls contractors to ensure seamless system interoperability
Provide Level 2/3 technical support for Niagara-based installations and troubleshoot live system issues
Document system architecture, integration mapping, and as-built configurations
Stay current on Niagara platform updates, Tridium releases, and emerging building automation standards
Mentor junior engineers and support pre-sales technical efforts as needed
Required Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience with Tridium Niagara Framework (N4 preferred; AX acceptable)
Active Niagara 4 Certification (NTY-N4) — required
Strong working knowledge of BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus TCP/RTU, and LonWorks protocols
Experience programming and commissioning DDC controllers from vendors such as Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens, or Distech
Proficiency in Niagara Workbench: driver configuration, station build, graphics development, and alarm management
Solid understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical controls, and building automation fundamentals
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control sequences, and mechanical drawings
Strong communication skills — able to interface with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders alike
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or equivalent technical field
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with cloud platforms: Honeywell Forge, AWS IoT, or Azure IoT Hub
Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and lightweight scripting (Python or JavaScript) for custom integration
Experience with cybersecurity best practices in OT/BAS environments
Familiarity with Haystack or Project Brick semantic modeling standards
LEED, CEM, or equivalent energy/sustainability certification
Prior experience in healthcare, data center, or critical facility environments
